Chesapeake & Ohio 4-6-2 and
Pennsylvania K4 Pacific Steam Locomotives
Expand your model railroading experience with the TrainMaster Command
Control system. Both of these detailed, traditionally sized locomotives
represent the lowest priced TMCC-equipped Lionel steamers ever offered.
Since they can handle an O-27 curve, these locomotives can bring Command
Control to virtually any layout. With a TMCC Command Base and CAB-1 Remote
Controller (Sold separately), all it takes is a one-wire connection to your
transformer to get started with the TrainMaster Command Control system. See
page 170 for more!

Standard O Steam Locomotives
2-6-0 Mogul Steam Locomotives
Although the wheel arrangement was first developed in the mid-19th century,
the 2-6-0 Mogul type ran on North American rails through the 1950s. After
the turn of the 20th century, they still hauled light passenger and light
freight consists. Their proven power even served in switching duties.
Moguls were especially popular in branch line service where lighter rail and
tight clearances restricted the use of larger, more modern motive power.
These scale-sized, fully-featured Lionel steamers can negotiate tight O-31
curves making them versatile enough to handle just about any O gauge
layout. All of the new 2-6-0s have many of our latest features including
the new synchronized smoke system. In addition, each version features
unique cab styles and details that accurately reflect that particular road
name.

Berkshire Steam Locomotives
Scale-sized Lionel Berkshires pay tribute to one of the last great steam
locomotive designs, including details unique to each road name. There is no
trust plate on the Lionel model of #2699 (ex-PM Berkshire #1215) since the
merger agreement between Pere Marquette and C&O dictated that only “paid
off” locomotives could be re-lettered Chesapeake & Ohio. Purchased in 1946,
Berkshires were among the last steamers to run on the Virginian Railway.
Both Berkshires include all-new enhancements such as separate coal,
individually opening water hatches, and more separately-applied details.

Pickering Lumber Heisler |
Pickering Lumber Corp.
Heisler
Heislers were favored by
logging outfits like California’s Pickering Lumber for their ability to
handle steep grades and rough track. Just like the prototype, the
scale-sized Lionel Pickering Lumber Corp. Heisler includes a working
drive train of spinning gears, cranks and shafts. The TMCC-equipped
locomotive includes the RailSounds sound system featuring unique effects
based on recordings of actual Heislers in action.

Union Pacific H-7 2-8-8-2 |
Joshua Lionel Cowen Series
Union Pacific H-7 2-8-8-2 Locomotive
From accurate detailing to the state-of-the-industry RailSounds 5.0
sound system, the third entry in this celebrated series offers another
scale-sized top-of-the-line locomotive found no where else in O gauge.
During World War II, the Union Pacific purchased thirty 2-8-8-2 “Simple
Simon” steamers from the Chesapeake & Ohio to haul heavy wartime
freight. Designed to match modifications made by UP, virtually all
piping and appliances on this Lionel locomotive are separately applied.
Customized RailSounds 5.0 recordings even include the unique Union
Pacific-style whistle.

2-8-8-2 Y-3 Steam Locomotives
After receiving their allotment of 50 USRA 2-8-8-2 locomotives in
1919, the N&W refined them further into their Y-3 class. They served on
Appalachian rails through the 1950s. In 1943 the Pennsylvania Railroad
acquired six N&W Y-3’s to help move freight on congested wartime mainlines.
With many distinctive details, each Lionel Y-3 is equipped with an all-new
18,000 gallon fishbelly tender. Each scale-sized model also includes
upgrades from previous 2-8-8-2 releases, including synchronized fan-driven
smoke and the all-new RailSounds 5.0 sound system. They also feature more
separately applied details including whistle and bell cords, opening roof
hatches, opening tender water hatches that reveal RailSounds controls, and
even a separate coal load.

Santa Fe 4-8-4 Northern
This all-new Lionel locomotive marks the first O gauge model of this
steam survivor, Santa Fe #3751. First built in 1927, the 4-8-4
Northern type hauled the signature passenger trains of the Atchison,
Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. After a distinguished 26 years of service
and later decades as a dormant park display, Santa Fe #3751 was
brought back to life by the San Bernardino Railroad Historical
Society. The big Northern has made regular excursion trips since
1991.
Including the RailSounds 5.0 sound system, this scale-sized
locomotive provides the latest features and accurate detailing. From
the turret valves to the fully round air cylinders under the running
boards, most of the metal piping and appliances are separately
applied, even the sand lines. This new locomotive even includes
three different press-in smokestacks—a standard straight stack, an
extended telescopic stack and an extended “smoke bonnet” stack.
All-new The Chief heavyweight passenger cars are also available.
